Meeting started 7pm

Principal Report:

• Report Cards - 3rd week of Feb
• Staffing has started - JF Registration, G1 FI and confirming overflow to determine school org for 2026. Currently closed for transfers.

Teacher Report:

• Valentine Cookie Grams
• Jr Volleyball ongoing
• Int. Basketball underway
• Jr Basketball tryouts – Feb
• Indigenous Artist began working with classes last week – very engaging
• Unity Community - Tamil Heritage Month, Lunar New Year.
• Chess Club – Tuesday @lunch. Looing into tournament for spring
• Art Club with Mrs. Taylor @recess -- abstract pieces
• Study Hall in morning Recess with Ms. Lau

Financial Report:

Went over financial report – funds seem to be in good health.

Voting

Vote 1 – Secretary:

• Roxy voted as secretary

Vote 2 – Fund Allocation:

• Approved $3,000 to donate to Scientists in the School (K – Primary)
• Approved $2,000 for Author Visits (Primary Grades)

Why this is important

1. Staff recognises they are a part of this event/community
2. Children value prizes from their teacher – feel connected, and to drum up excitement of what can be won if they attend the event.

ACTION: Cara to provide everyone edit access to the shared Doc by Jan 13

Prizes:

Bingo Winners: 20 little prizes for Bingo Winners (20 in total – ensures extras in case of multiple winners plus 5 if we have to move to an X instead of a full card)

4x game one - line in any direction (4 winners)

4x game two - 4 corners (4 winners)

4x game three – T (4 winners)

1x game four - full card (1 winner). If we run out of time, move it to an X (4 winner)

4 spare prizes in case of multiple winners.

ACTION:  Rebecca to Check Costco, Dollarama, Dollar Tree and Best Buy for Gift Card.

Costo requires a charitable donation - Jessica Smythe to provide to Rebecca by Next Meeting (Jan 26) 

ACTION: Roxy and Cara to donate Money for Small Prizes by next meeting (Jan 26) 

Associated ACTION: Purchase and package the Small Bingo Prizes - Kim

ACTION:  Rebecca and Jenna to continue to collect Grand Prizes until Jan 25 

ACTION:  Rebecca to provide the list of prizes already obtained by Jan 16

ACTION:  Rebecca and Jenna to find out if Bulk Barn will donate before the cut off of Jan 25th. If we get a GC, we will need to further discuss making kebabs. (we have $100 for Candy - whatever donated on top). Also need to investigate cost/size (how may candies)

ACTION: Committee agree to a 15 min break between rounds 2 and 3 - put a timer up online. Roxy to look for an online countdown to display by next meeting

Supply List

• ACTION: Cara to clean up and provide Supply list - updated names/responsibilities by Jan 16. Anything not on the previous agree upon list would have to be donated.
  • Rebecca and Jenna have a Balloon Arc and Balloons to donate if we want.
• ACTION: Mags to double check the dollars for end of week. We have updated # of ppl estimated to attend
• ACTION: Signage, table cards and Pricelist+ verbiage that remind everyone they cannot purchase additional raffle tickets - Cara to complete for the next meeting, approved by the board.
• ACTION: Roxy to Donate the Ducks - How Many? Need to know by next meeting
• ACTION: Jessica to collect and provide Kleenex boxes/container for raffle box submission.
• ACTION: Music playlist - instrumental - add **unity and community - Everyone take a look.  To be approved by next meeting
• ACTION: Charging Ahead communication to mention Bingo each time - Kim/ Office
• ACTION: Teacher prizes advertised in the hall by end of this week - Kim/ Office
